It is estimated that housing investment in Scotland in 1973 was £295 million, or approximately 5.5 per cent. of the Scottish gross domestic product. Total expenditure on housing in Scotland, including house improvements, and repair and maintenance, in 1973 amounted to about 8 per cent. of Scottish GDP.
