HC Deb 04 July 1975 vol 894 cc589-90W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has had any discussions with the Government of the Irish Republic about the progress of their Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Bill as it affects the United Kingdom; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Hattersley

The matter has been raised on several occasions by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland during meetings with Ministers of the Irish Republic. The Irish Government share our concern that their Criminal Law (Jurisdiction) Bill and our own Criminal Jurisdiction Bill, which are complementary to each other, should become law as soon as possible.
