§ Mr. Alfred MorrisAdvice on general matters relating to the disabled is given 457W by the Personal Social Services Council, which was set up in 1973 under the Chairmanship of Lord James of Rusholme to advise Ministers and all concerned with the provision and development of the personal social services in England and Wales, on all aspects of these services. Much of the work of the Personal Social Services Council is undertaken by working groups to which non-members may be co-opted. Such a group was 458W recently brought together by the council for an informal study day to discuss the responsibilities of different organisations concerned with people with physical handicaps and to explore priorities for the council's work in this field.
In addition, specialist advice in various fields is provided by other committees, for example, in relation to hearing impairment and artificial limbs.
