§ Dr. OwenThe normal statutory charge is based on the average cost of all services provided for NHS patients except the cost of consultant services. The charge also includes a small addition for extra catering costs and, where appropriate, for the use of a single room. If private patients are provided with further 447W additional services not needed on medical grounds, they pay the full cost of these. I am afraid I have no precise information of the charges made in practice for these extra facilities.
