asked the Secretary of State for Industry what are the guidelines under which the Industrial Development Advisory Board operates.

For employment creating and modernisation projects in the assisted areas the board's guidelines are as presented to Parliament in the Industry Act Annual Report for 1974. Other proposals are considered in the light of the statutory provisions of Sections 7 and 8 having regard to the industrial, regional and economic implications and the company's prospects. These guidelines are being reviewed.
