§ 19. Mr. Duffyasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the findings of the CBI's 55th industrial trends survey, if he is satisfied that he can fulfil his policy of maintaining employment.
§ Mr. HealeyThe Government remain firmly committed to the aim of full employment. The extent to which this objective can be reached in present international conditions depends above all upon workers and employers reaching pay settlements within the spirit, and not just the letter, of the social contract. The CBI survey shows clearly what is at stake.
