HC Deb 17 February 1975 vol 886 c306W
Colonel Sir Harwood Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many housing starts were made in the administrative county of Suffolk during the third quarter of 1974; and how this compares with each year since 1971.

Mr. Kaufman

Following are the numbers of public and private sector housing starts reported:

DWELLINGS STARTED, SUFFOLK
3rd quarter 1971 1,057
3rd quarter 1972 1,269
3rd quarter 1973 1,381
3rd quarter 1974 541

The figures for 1971 to 1973 are estimates allowing for the transfer of part of Lothingland RD to Norfolk.

Colonel Sir Harwood Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has completed the review announced at Brighton on 30th October 1974 into ways to get more homes built more quickly and more cheaply; and whether he will announce the result.

Mr. Freeson

I hope to make an announcement soon.
