§ Mr. Merlyn ReesA mobile police patrol car was ambushed at 9.30 p.m. on Friday 31st January 1975 on the Dungannon-Donaghmore Road near Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone, by terrorist gunmen. There were four police officers in the car, two RUC and two RUC Reserve. The car was returning from the home of Mr. Austin Currie where a routine check on security had been made. One officer received fatal injuries and the driver received wounds in the chest. The vehicle was struck by gunfire at least 13 times.
