Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the monthly number of admissions, under the emergency Section 15 of the Mental Health Act (NI) 1961, to each of the six psychiatric hospitals in Northern Ireland, during each month since January 1972 until December 1974.

The information is as follows:

a policeman and the killing of a police sergeant near the home of Mr. Austin Currie, SDLP Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

A mobile police patrol car was ambushed at 9.30 p.m. on Friday 31st January 1975 on the Dungannon-Donaghmore Road near Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone, by terrorist gunmen. There were four police officers in the car, two RUC and two RUC Reserve. The car was returning from the home of Mr. Austin Currie where a routine check on security had been made. One officer received fatal injuries and the driver received wounds in the chest. The vehicle was struck by gunfire at least 13 times.
