§ Mr. Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) whether he will list those local education authorities in which the examination results in existing comprehensive schools are better than the results from the existing grammar and secondary modern schools;
(2) whether he will list those local education authorities in which the examination results have got consistently better since the secondary schools became reorganised on comprehensive lines.
§ Mr. ArmstrongMy Department does not collect this information and the cost of assembling it would be disproportionately high. It is nevertheless the case that, taken overall, GCE and CSE successes158W have risen significantly during a period of substantial increase in the proportion of pupils attending comprehensive schools.
