HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 c443W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many pirate commercial radio stations at present operate off the coasts of the United Kingdom; and to what extent they present a hazard to maritime communications frequencies.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

There is one such station. Pirate stations operating outside the internationally agreed regulations constitute a potential hazard, but no interference to maritime communications by the present station has come to our notice.
