HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 cc445-6W
Mr. Stephen Ross

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what submissions his Department made to the International Frequency Registration Board earlier this summer; if he is statisfied with the subsequent agreement that was reached in Geneva recently; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

The submission made to the International Frequency Registration Board of the International Telecommunications Union earlier this year was a statement of the requirements for frequencies based upon existing usage. As I said in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Berwick-upon-Tweed (Mr. Beith) on 24th November—[Vol. 901, c.73–74.]—those frequencies were retained in the plan finally agreed by the Geneva Conference. My right hon. Friend hopes to make a considered statement on the outcome of the conference as soon as is practicable.
