§ Mr. Christopher Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his policy towards the residential status in Great Britain of those overseas students who require a period of practical training as part of their education courses and cannot at present receive this because of the unemployment situation.
§ Mr. Alexander W. LyonOverseas students who are required to undergo practical training as part of a sandwich course are, for immigration control purposes, regarded as full-time students. If, guided by their college, they are unable to find acceptable practical training, their continued stay as students is sympathetically considered in the light of their personal circumstances.
