§ Mrs. Millie Millerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take steps to implement the recommendations of the World Plan of Action adopted at the International Women's Year Conference in Mexico City for the period 1975 to 1980 in connection with achieving a marked increase in literacy of women, extending vocational training in basic skills for women and redirecting formal, non-formal and life-long education towards the revaluation of men and women.
§ Mr. MulleyThe Sex Discrimination Act requires the provision of education and training to be made without discrimination on grounds of sex. Women as well as men are free to take advantage of the present Government assisted campaign for adult literacy. The education system is sufficiently flexible to respond to widely differing needs and interests as expressed by individuals of either sex.
