§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, whether meetings between his officials and Provisional Sinn Fein are still taking place; and how many of these meetings have been held since 10th February 1975.
§ Mr. Merlyn Rees, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 10th December 1975; 409W Vol. 902, c. 269], gave the following information:
As I told the House on 14th January 1975—[Vol. 884, c. 203]—my officials are available to hear the views of those who might have something to contribute to the solution of Northern Ireland's problem. These include a wide range of non-proscribed organisations, many of which, I understand, have had meetings with members of political parties in Northern Ireland. It would not be helpful to give the dates or numbers of such meetings with individual organisations.
