§ 38. Mr. Bryant Godman Irvineasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement about his plans for land drainage maps held by his Department for a period exceeding 20 years.
§ Mr. StrangThese plans were originally supplied to my Department by farmers when they applied for field drainage grant. They are no longer needed for administrative purposes and in order to save storage costs those over 20 years old are being destroyed. My Department had intended to continue destruction on this basis annually, but in the light of representations received from the NFU and others we are considering whether arrangements can be made without undue public expense to retain the more recent plans for a further period.
