§ Mr. StrangThe food labelling law already requires food to be labelled informatively, and prohibits false or misleading descriptions to be applied to it. We are considering extensive representations about the Food Standards Committee Report on Novel Protein Foods before deciding whether, and to what extent, the law needs to be extended so as to deal specifically with these foods.
