§ Miss Richardsonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will up-date and re-issue the supplementary benefits leaflet entitled "Help with Heating Costs" last issued in November 1974; whether it can be broadened to give advice and information relevant not only to pensioners but to others, such as one-parent families, who face heating problems; and whether the leaflet can be made available not only to social workers but to potential claimants.
§ Mr. MeacherThe advice contained in the existing leaflet is relevant to all recipients of supplementary benefit and not merely to pensioners. The criteria for awarding extra heating additions remain unchanged but the amounts have increased with effect from 17th November 1975. Arrangements are in hand for an updated reprint, which will be made available to members of the public on request at local social security offices.
