HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 c459W
Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what assessment his Department has made of the reduction of injury and of death to motorists if it were made compulsory for manufacturers to fit laminated glass in the windscreens of vehicles.

Dr. Gilbert

The evidence available to me does not indicate that the different characteristics of laminated and toughened glass windscreens have any significant effect on casualties.
