Mr. Peter Walker

asked the Minister for the Civil Service how many brief cases have been issued to civil servants over the past two years; what has been the cost; and what is the size and value of current stocks of brief cases held by the Government.

A further 8,000 brief cases for special purposes, such as those with security safeguards, were issued at a cost of £87,000. Stocks are held of 328 of these, worth £2,800.
