HC Deb 04 December 1975 vol 901 c677W
13. Mr. Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether his review of the Criminal Injuries (Northern Ireland) Act 1968 includes a reconsideration of the deductibility of pensions; when he expects the review to be completed; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

As the House has already been informed on a number of occasions, I am reviewing the 1968 Act, which concerns compensation for criminal injuries to persons, through a committee of officials.

The question of deductibility of pensions, of course, within the scope of the review of the 1968 Act. The review covers all aspects. I cannot yet indicate when the review will be completed, or anticipate its conclusions. I am anxious to proceed with all possible and prudent expedition.
