§ Mr. Robert SheldonIt is estimated that in total the equivalent of 10,850 staff is employed on the control and administration of value added tax and car tax—which are administered together—at an annual cost of just over £70 million. The estimated yield for value added tax in 1975–76 is £3,275 million.
