§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she is aware that over 25 per cent. of the beds are vacant at Princess Marina Hospital, Northampton, because of shortage of nursing staff; and what action she proposes to take.
§ Dr. OwenYes. Shortage of nursing staff is one of several factors which are preventing full use of the hospital. The regional and area health authorities are doing everything possible within the limited resources available to remedy the deficiencies, and I have asked for a detailed report so that I can personally be kept informed.
