§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what studies are 391W being carried out by his Department into the implications for Northern Ireland of British membership of the EEC and of comparative conditions in Northern Ireland and other areas of the EEC; and whether such studies will be completed and published during the referendum campaign.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesNo specific studies are being carried out, but I receive day to day advice on these matters from all the Departments under my control. The Government's assessment of the implications of the United Kingdom's continued membership of the EEC is set out in the recent White Papers. (Cmnd. 5925 and 6003.)
