HC Deb 29 November 1974 vol 882 c264W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food why he refuses to introduce legislation to prohibit the use of fertilisers on golf courses, football pitches, gardens, etc., so that it can be diverted to those areas of the world where it is urgently required in order to produce food.

Mr. Bishop

The quantity of fertilisers used for non-agricultural purposes in the United Kingdom is very small, and the administration of such legislation would be difficult and expensive.
