HC Deb 28 November 1974 vol 882 cc236-7W
Mr. Nicholas Edwards

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of unfilled vacancies in Wales in each month of 1973 and 1974.

Mr. John Fraser

Vacancy statistics relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and careers offices and are not a measure of total vacancies. Following is the information for Wales.

From April 1974, vacancies notified to employment offices include some that are suitable for young persons and those notified to careers offices include some that are suitable for adults. Because of possible duplication the two series should not be added together.
