§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has yet received the report of the London Rail Study.
§ Mr. MulleyThe report, which I have only just received, is being published today, and I shall place copies in the Library. I should like to thank the study group, and in particular its chairman, Sir David Barran, for the thorough and constructive job it has done. The report deals with the present problems of London's railways and with their future rôle and requirements, including capital investment. I believe it will lay a firm foundation for the planning and development of London's rail services. I shall study its recommendations with care, as I am sure the Greater London Council and the railway undertakings will also want to do.
