HC Deb 26 November 1974 vol 882 c142W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what action he intends to take in respect of the Scottish children who suffered brain damage from vaccines, in view of his responsibilities under the Therapeutic Substances Act.

Mr. William Ross

I assume that the hon. Lady is referring to suggestions for a compensation scheme for vaccine-damaged children. This question has been referred to the Royal Commission on Compensation and Civil Liability. All available information on the possible risks of immunisation procedures is currently being reviewed by a sub-committee of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.
