slowed down. In addition, deferments and cancellations were made in the purchase of administrative stores and services, including ship repairs, dockyard plant and machinery and miscellaneous stores and clothing, and in the works programme, mainly affecting new construction.
These deferments and cancellations account for about one-third of the savings required in 1974–75. The rest were achieved by slippage occurring through unavoidable delays in production.
