HC Deb 26 November 1974 vol 882 c105W
Mr. Clemitson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many work permits are currently issued to non-British nationals employed as pilots in the United Kingdom.

Mr. John Fraser

Seven permits were issued in 1973 and 10 this year to date, some for short periods. Seven were for pilots qualified to fly large helicopters servicing oil rigs. In these as in all such cases my Department has first to be satisfied that suitable British pilots are not available.
