HC Deb 26 November 1974 vol 882 c150W
Mr. Arthur Jones

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what prospective traffic densities are being used in his recommendations regarding the character and route of the Ml-Al link road; and what space capacity is anticipated on the south-bound lanes of the Ml between the Crick and Collingtree junctions.

Mr. Caimchael

The traffic anticipated on the Ml-Al link in 1995 would be about 10,000 vehicles daily, though around Kettering and Wellingborough it would rise to 15,000-20,000 vehicles. By then the Ml between Crick and Collingtree will be nearing the limit of its capacity.
