asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will seek to ensure completion of the Huntworth-Blackbrook section of the M5 so that summer holiday traffic to the Soulh-West does not have to pass through North Petherton.

As the hon. Member is aware, shortage of steel and bad weather have contributed to delay on this scheme. I am seeing whether it may be possible to relieve North Petherton of the worst of next year's summer traffic if the road cannot be completed in time.
