HC Deb 21 November 1974 vol 881 c505W
Mr. Speed

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what advice he has received from the Chairman of the CEGB about the adequacy of coal supplies for electricity generation this winter.

Mr. Varley

The Chairman of the CEGB has assured me that providing the existing rate of coal deliveries is maintained, the current levels of coal stocks should be sufficient to meet normal contingencies this winter without risk to electricity supplies.
