§ Mr. Simsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will appoint a representative of the Probation Service to serve as a member of his advisory council on the penal system.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsI do not intend that the council should be constituted on the basis of representation, but, in the appointments which I shall be making shortly, I have in mind the advantage of appointing a member with experience of the Probation and After-Care Service.
