HC Deb 19 November 1974 vol 881 cc405-6W
Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many surveys, as laid down in Part II, Section 13(3) of the Housing (Scotland) Act, have been carried out; and how many are now being planned by local authorities.

Mr. William Ross

I do not have this information. Local authorities are not required to inform me of such surveys.

Mr. Welsh

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many housing action areas are in existence; and how many are now being planned by local authorities.

Mr. William Ross

The declaration of housing action areas is provided for in the Housing (Scotland) Act 1974, which comes into operation on 27th November. I do not yet know what proposals local authorities may have in mind.
