§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will take steps to see that the annual report under Section 22 of the Chronically Sick and Disabled Persons' Act contains much more information than hitherto; if she will take steps to carry out a trawl of all research and development financed by Her Majesty's Government which may provide spin-off in aids for the disabled: and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisThe four reports published so far, when read together, summarise the available information and record progress on search and development work carried out by or on behalf of every Minister of the Crown in the field of equipment for the disabled. Arrangements exist for notifying the Department of Health and Social Security of any spin-off from work undertaken by other Departments in unrelated fields where the development can be seen to have a possible application for the disabled. I shall continue to do everything I can to ensure the comprehensive reporting of progress.
