asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in the OFFICIAL REPORT all improvements, with the approximate starting date, planned for the A7 trunk road from Hawick to the Border.

The following schemes in Dumfriesshire are being prepared, and starting dates will be decided as schemes become ready, in the light of the availability of funds: Canonbie diversion, Eweslees Bridge, Fiddleton Bridge, Bush Bridge, Skipper's Bridge, Factory Bridge.
