Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what arrangements exist for future naval joint exercises and other contacts over the next 12 months with the South African Navy arising from British obligations under the Simonstown Agreement.

As my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs said in the House on 30th October—[Vol. 880, c. 242.]—the Government are reviewing the naval arrangements arising from the Simonstown Agreement. The House will be informed of the outcome.
