HC Deb 15 November 1974 vol 881 c248W
Mr. George Rodgers

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will review the operation of the D restriction as it applies to employees in Royal ordnance factories in view of the restriction it places on the everyday activities of such people.

Mr. William Rodgers

In common with all other employees of the Ministry of Defence, employees at the Royal ordnance factories are required to sign a declaration that they are aware of the provisions of the Official Secrets Acts which make unauthorised disclosure of information acquired during the course of official duties an offence. I do not think that this places unnecessary restrictions on individuals' everyday activities, but if my hon. Friend has a particular case in mind and will let me know I will write to him.
