§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) for the most recent date for which figures were available how many children had remained in assessment centres in the area covered by the North-Western Children's Regional Planning Committee, for more than six weeks, for more than eight weeks and for over 12 weeks; why children were remaining more than six weeks in such centres; and what types of accommodation they were waiting to go on to;
(2) how many children are in the care of local authorities, within the area of the North-Western Children's Regional Planning Committee, who were committed to care on care orders of the juvenile courts and are now awaiting placing in assessment centres.
§ Dr. OwenInformation of this kind is not recorded centrally. I have made inquiries of the North-Western Children's Regional Planning Committee, which has undertaken to supply some information. When I have received it I will write to my hon. Friend.
