HC Deb 11 November 1974 vol 881 c3W
26. Mr. Moonman

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will institute an inquiry into the effect of recent large-scale thefts on the British travel business; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Clinton Davis

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the recent thefts of airline tickets from certain travel agents in the South-East. I appreciate his concern, but I cannot see that an inquiry such as he envisages would serve any useful purpose, while the police are investigating these thefts.
