asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give consideration to the imposition of a weight limitation on vehicles using the A128.

This is a matter for the Essex County Council.

Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will call for a report on the number of accidents on the A128 which have occurred during the past 12 months on those sections of the road where the speed limit is derestricted.

Statistics of road accidents and casualties in local areas are a matter for the local authorities concerned. I suggest the hon. Member contacts the Essex County Council.
