asked the Secretary of State for Trade, what is the current deficit on balance of trade between the United Kingdom and other members of the EEC.

Mr. Deakins

The trade deficit, measured on a balance of payments basis and seasonally adjusted, is provisionally estimated at £1,368 million in the first nine months of this year.
