HC Deb 07 November 1974 vol 880 c201W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will make a statement about the flag of Her Majesty's Coastguard Service.

Mr. Clinton Davis

A distinctive ensign for Her Majestys' Coastguard was considered appropriate for coastguard stations on watch. Her Majesty The Queen graciously gave her approval to a design, and the ensign was first hoisted at a commissioning ceremony on 28th October.
