Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will publish a table showing average salaries for each of the administrative and executive grades of the Civil Service in 1960 and 1974, expressed at current prices and at constant prices.

* Under the terms of the Counter-Inflation (Price and Pay Code) (No. 2) Order 1973 the increases due to the Senior Principal and Assistant Secretary grades were to be paid in two instalments. The second instalment is payable from 7th November 1974 and will bring the scale maxima to £7,050 and £8,850 respectively.
