HC Deb 24 May 1974 vol 874 cc303-4W
Mr. Ridsdale

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many houses are unoccupied at the proposed Wrabness prison site; for how long these houses have been unoccupied; and if he will make a statement about their future use.

Dr. Summerskill

Twelve houses are unoccupied at the proposed Wrabness prison site. With the exception of one, which was vacated about 15 months ago, they have been empty since 1965. The possibility of upgrading them to appropriate standards for future prison staff is under review.
