HC Deb 24 May 1974 vol 874 c305W
Mr. Cyril Smith

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have been initiated under the Incitement to Disaffection Act for each of the years 1964 to 1974; and what sentences were imposed or conviction in each case.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

Two persons were tried at the Crown court in 1972. One was acquitted; the other was acquitted on two charges and sentenced to two years' imprisonment on each of two further charges. There were no other prosecutions in the years 1964–73; no statistics are yet available for 1974.
