§ Mr. Edgeasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider permitting some areas, originally proposed as interim green belt, to be used as housing land to meet the need of the 7,000 people on the housing waiting list within the area of the Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council.
§ Mr. KaufmanDecisions to release interim green belt land will be taken in the context of structure and local plans for the areas concerned or exceptionally when planning applications are made for the development of particular sites. The housing needs of Walsall and of other parts of the West Midlands Metropolitan County will be an important consideration in such decisions.
