§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will bring forward proposals for a national scheme under which concessionary bus travel for retirement pensioners would be available throughout England.
§ Mr. MulleyLocal authorities already have discretion to arrange concessionary bus travel within certain statutory limits, and from 1st April last such expenditure by local authorities is included in the national estimate of relevant expenditure for rate support grant purposes. I have no new proposals at present.
