asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many appeals against assessment are awaiting a hearing by the valuation panels in the county of Hampshire, to the nearest convenient date, compared with the same date for the preceding three years.

There were 5,460 appeals awaiting hearing by local valuation courts in Hampshire on 30th April 1974. On the same date in 1971, 1972 and 1973 the numbers were 940, 776 and 401 respectively.
