HC Deb 20 May 1974 vol 874 c3W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will make preparations designed to safeguard the construction industry in Scotland against the non availability of cement in Scotland which will arise as manufacturers are obliged to close down loss-making oil-fired cement plants in response to the Price Commission's ruling.

Mr. Freeson

I have been asked to reply.

I am not aware that any cement manufacturers have decided to close down any oil-fired cement plants as a result of the operation of the Price Code.
